No, I’m not pregnant. Ha, ha! But, I am going to be working hard for a new goal.
On August 22, 2010, I will be “racing” in the Iron Girl Sprint Triathlon in Columbia, MD. According to the site, I am 289 days from “race day.”

The swim is .62 miles. This is my biggest concern and the area I will need the most training. It is an open water swim with about 200 women starting at the same time!

The bike ride is 17.5 miles. This is the area, I am most prepared for. Because, I spin about 3-4 times a week, I think this shouldn’t be too hard. But, I may want to pass out after swimming .62 miles! Plus, riding my bike in a wet bathing suit — not sure how that will feel. Sometimes, it gets so hot and humid in the spin room, that I wish I was wearing a bathing suit!

Last is a 3.4 mile run. I am not a natural runner, but I can run 3 miles. I’m just not sure how easy it will feel after the swim & bike.

I am so excited that I signed up! My first goal is to add swimming and running into my workout schedule. I have so much to look forward to — new goals, a new bike, new running shoes, and 14 weeks of training beginning in May ‘10.
you GO girl! I’m excited if I get around the block three times…I so admire your enthusiasm!
Wow! Good luck!!
I admire you for wanting to participate
in this. I would love to complete
one but I don’t really like swimming
(I ALWAYS get leg cramps no matter
how much warm ups I do before entering
the pool) and my balance on the bicycle
is terrible :/
the husband completed one or two a couple of years ago so I REALLY
admire him
You go girl!!!! I love strength!
I was training for a triathalon when my son arrived, and it’s something I’ve always regretted not doing.
